The Kashgar hotel in XinjiangKashgar Hotel (喀什噶尔宾馆) $$$

Pronunciation: kāshígáĕr bīnguăn                           Find it on a Map

Description: The Kashgar hotel was once only open to government officials which is probably why the hotel grounds are so green and open.  Besides being close to the Kashgar Museum, however, the location is about a 5-10 minute taxi ride into the city.  If you are looking for a more quiet place to sleep that isn’t too expensive, then the Kashgar Hotel might not be a bad choice.

The Old City Hostel in Kashgar, XinjiangKashgar Old City Hostel (喀什老城青年旅馆) $

Pronunciation: kāshí lăochéng qīngnián lǚguăn

Description: Because it is situated in Kashgar’s Old City, it’s difficult to describe where this hostel is located.  It is about 300m west of the Id Kah mosque on Wusitangboyi Rd and you will see a sign on the door that says “Youth Hostel”.  It is designed as a Uyghur courtyard and although it lacks quite a few amenities it has a great atmosphere, nice people and cheap beds.
