Few experiences compare to visiting Kashgar’s Id Kah Mosque during Eid ul-Fitr, the day that most Uyghurs break the month-long Ramadan fast. Check out the video!

One day I walked into class a few minutes early to find music ringing and all the students dancing. One student stood out in particular to me, a student who I am told has been taught to dance. Next class I brought my camera so that you, too, could enjoy the sight of my kindergarten student rocking his head and his hips in gyrating circles. I just can’t help but laugh.

The Chinese wedding! How we wish all of you could experience this kind of wedding – ha! First we would like to say that most everything about a Chinese wedding is completely opposite that of America.

The kindergarteners graduated today! It’s hard to describe in writing so we’ll try to let the pictures do the talking. Each kid was able to dress up and perform outside in front of a few hundred parents showing off a bit of what they’ve learned this year. It lasted two hours – long, a bit hot, but altogether very nice! Enjoy!

Wow, I don’t think we realized how much time has passed since we last posted here. This month has flown by very fast, thankfully, and as much as we wish that these next two months would continue that trend, I think the fact that we are counting the days until we visit home will cause it to slow to a turtle’s pace.
