		<description>And, to continue, representation, whether we realize it consciously or not, is probably one of the most significant filters by which we experience things in our lives. None of this has only to do with a &#039;fixation&#039; on the media in China or on people not knowing who Uyghurs are. (It&#039;s easy to claim people are &#039;generally unknown,&#039; but I think it&#039;s silly.)</description>

The problem one finds in trying to discuss the &#039;problems causing the incident&#039; is that we primarily know, or at least convince ourselves we know, those problems are based on the ways that people and the narratives they construct represent and portray them to us. Searches for direct causes aren&#039;t too fruitful in my mind.</description>
